Creating a dash panel for a digital race display

The Supra is fitting with a stand alone engine management system. One of the huge benefits of that is the availability of information that can be displayed via gauges, screens and computers. I’ll be utilizing Microtech’s 7″ race dash display to display all of the vital engine data as well as speed, RPM and many others. In order to mount the display I first needed to remove the old analog cluster that came in the vehicle. Next was to create a cluster plate to fill the void. For this project I used 5052 aluminum which allows for a little more flex ability in the metal. I chose 5052 to better contour the original dash. Once the display come in from Microtech I will be finish the plate and creating a hole for it to sit it. Stay tuned for updates on this project.
